Congress runs out of Tricks.... Decides to boycott the Prime Minister

It seems business is not running as usual for the Congress party at least; after losing to BJP in the national elections; Congress seems to have run out of tricks in their bag of political wits. All along they have tried to mock the BJP led NDA's "acche din aane waale hai" "Good days are about to come" slogan, coined by Mr. Modi, who is now the Prime Minister. The tricks have led to further deterioration in Congress's position it seems, Congress tried to cement themselves, when finally Mr. Rahul Gandhi woke up in the parliament and created disruptions without any concrete reasons. They even tried playing the communal card against the BJP, but all in vain.

They finally understood that nothing much can be done, at least for now and they will have to bite the bullet and stay silent for a while. Mr. Modi's speech on 15th of August, came as a further blow and a few Congress veterans also praised the same, Mr. Jairam Ramesh, posted on his website that, "I have been saying that making India open defecation free should be a national junoon, a national obsession. When I was Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, we had launched the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyaan and now Mr. Modi is taking that forward with his Swachh Bharat Mission"

After jeers at Haryana event Hooda says won’t share stage with Narendra Modi

Finally it seems Congress has found a way to avoid the Prime Minister in public at large, after the incident in Haryana where Mr. Modi and Mr. Hooda (CM of Haryana) were sharing the dais, the public that was cheering for Mr. Modi wooed Mr. Hooda and the same was taken very well by the Congress Party, instead of doing an analysis of why such a thing took place they decided to boycott Mr. Modi during state functions, by asking Congress Chief Ministers not to share dais with Mr. Narendra Modi.

Congress seems to have forgotten that, Mr. Modi is not a mere Politician but the representative of 1/6th population of the world, that he has been elected  by a democratic process and not by force or anything. By boycotting the Prime Minister isn't the Congress sidelining the democratic process that was mainly constituted by the founders of the Congress itself. The congress party needs to understand that as a nation to grow all states need to work in unison and not in seclusion.

Here it seems like a repeat of the history at the end of Congress, when NDA came into power under Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he started a program where all state CM's were to meet on a common forum and discuss the growth agenda for the nation. I remember reading about the same and a lot of Congress chief ministers also welcomed the idea, but after the first meeting Congress CM's were instructed not to attend any such forum held by the than Prime Minister Mr. A B Vajpayee. A Congress CM was quoted in the a prominent current affairs magazine on condition of anonymity that, "Madam Ji has instructed us not to attend the meetings any more"

It seems that the Congress party does not want India to come out of the loop of Political Agendas which only revolve around Roti, Kapda aur Makan (Food, Clothing and housing); as people of the nation we need to analyse what is happening and what is right or wrong, it is us the people of the nation who can bring about the change, a few steps in the right direction can result in tremendous growth. As people we need to ask our politicians to give up on party based differences and work towards a common goal of a developed India, a India which will shine bright, India whose future generations will be free from the tag of a developing nation and an India which will be united at every front when it comes to national integration....

Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha not attending the Parliament regularly

On Thursday, NCP MP, D.P. Tripathi raised the issue of Sachin and Rekha not being regular in terms of attendance to the Rajya Sabha since they have been nominated to the house. He said that although   he admires both the personalities and appreciate their work in their respective fields but still, it does not give them a right to skip the proceeding of the house and in turn dishonour the same.

Speaking on the remarks made by Mr. Tripathi and issues raised by a few other members, deputy chairman of the house Mr. P.J. Kurien gave out the following statement, “As per Article 104 of the Constitution, if a member is absent from either House of Parliament for a period of 60 days then the seat is considered vacant. In case of Sachin Tendulkar, he has not attended the Parliament for 40 days whereas Rekha’s absence is less than this,” he observed.

Mr. Kurien also stated that Mr. Tendulkar was nominated to the upper house in April 2012 and has attended the session for three days. “Last time he had come to the House on December 13, 2013,”

About Ms. Rekha, he stated that she had joined in April 2012 and has attended the session for seven days. “Last time she attended the House on February 19, 2014.”

A few members had also stated that the cricketing legend should contribute more the proceeding to the house and should try to be more proactive in the house.

Is it Congress or Rahul Gandhi, who is feeling left out ??

The house proceedings are being disturbed on a regular basis by the Congress Party for the past few days, the overall scenario seems to be of attention grabbing tactics rather than fruitful debate. Finally in a bid to showcase his presence and authority Rahul Gandhi disrupted the working of the house by charging towards the speaker by assembling in the well of the house a few days back.

Gandhi, who has been accused of being inactive in Parliament, was in the forefront when Congress along with other opposition parties created an uproar.

Later Rahul Gandhi told reports outside the parliament that, "We are not being allowed to speak in the parliament, we are asking for discussion. The mentality is that discussion is not acceptable; everybody feels it, their party feels it, we feel it everybody feels it"

In continuation to the above point Mr. Jaitley on wednesday said, "It is a time for the Congress party to introspect itself........  If you want to show yourself as doing something, it will be better if you lead your own party, rather than develop a contrived aggression against the functioning of the house itself, which otherwise has been functioning well" he went on to say that Congress seems to be facing a coup within their own party, as day after day established leaders of the party are speaking out.

Is Rahul Gandhi feeling left out in the dearth of genuine topics of discussion, or is it the mounting pressure of bringing Priyanka Gandhi to the forefront of congress starting to threaten him. Their seems to be an identity crisis within the party, every leader including Mr. Gandhi seems to be involved in the fight of grabbing attention and come the forefront, some are trying to be the face of the party themselves, while others seem to back behind the Gandhi Wagon by putting forward name of Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi Vadhera, as the future leader of the party.

As a part of the above agenda it seems Mr. Gandhi has realised that he needs to be more active in the house, and was observed to be more involved in the proceedings of the house just a day after creating a ruckus by storming the well of the house with a group of other members from congress. He was seen involved in discussion with Mr. Scindia during the proceedings of the house today.

GST, Infrastructure, More IITs, IIMs and AIMS; Complete speech of Shri Pranab Mukherjee on New Government work

Honourable Members
I am delighted to address this first session of both Houses of Parliament after the elections to the 16th Lok Sabha. Let me begin by extending warm greetings to my fellow citizens, who participated in large numbers in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. We should never forget that we are here because of them. Serving them should be our first priority. I also felicitate the members of the new Lok Sabha. You have successfully obtained the mandate from the electorate and now you represent their hopes, aspirations and dreams. I extend a warm welcome to all of you and hope that the sessions ahead with heavy legislative agenda will be productive and useful.
2. It is a matter of great satisfaction that the recent general elections were smooth and largely peaceful. I would like to congratulate the Election Commission of India and the official machinery for conducting these elections successfully. The unprecedented interest shown by the people of India in the elections is a sign of progressive deepening of our vibrant democracy. Before I dwell upon the tasks ahead of us, I would like to express my solidarity with the families of all those who lost their lives during the election process.
3. I congratulate the new Speaker of the Lok Sabha on her unanimous election to this august office. By successively electing women Speakers, the Lok Sabha has re-affirmed our age-old belief in the importance of women in our society.
Honourable Members
4. This has been an election of Hope. It marks a turning point in the evolution of our democratic polity. The surge in aspirations and the belief that these could be realized through democratic processes, has been amply reflected in the record 66.4% participation by voters, and a clear verdict in favour of a single political party after a gap of nearly 30 years. The electorate transcended the boundaries of caste, creed, region and religion to come together and vote decisively in favour of Development through Good Governance.
5. The country needed a strong and stable government that could provide effective leadership. In my Republic Day speech earlier this year, I had hoped for 2014 to be a year of healing after the fractured and contentious politics of the previous years. Standing here today, I applaud the wisdom of my fellow citizens for having voted for stability, honesty and development in a resurgent India in which corruption will have no place. They have voted for a united, strong, and modern India - “Ek Bharat - Shreshtha Bharat”. My government will work to fulfill these aspirations; with the involvement of all the 125 crore people of this great country.
6. My government is committed to nurturing the right environment for actualizing this mandate of the people. For this, it pledges itself to the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’; which can be fulfilled only through your active participation. We will work together to re-establish the credibility of the institutions of democracy. My government will function on the mantra of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’. In all our actions, we will be guided by the core values of our great civilization.
Honourable Members
7. My Government is dedicated to the poor. Poverty has no religion, hunger has no creed, and despair has no geography. The greatest challenge before us is to end the curse of poverty in India. My government will not be satisfied with mere “poverty alleviation”; and commits itself to the goal of “poverty elimination”. With a firm belief that the first claim on development belongs to the poor; the government will focus its attention on those who need the basic necessities of life most urgently. It will take necessary steps to provide security in its entirety to all citizens; through empathy, support and empowerment.
8. Containing food inflation will be the topmost priority for my government. There would be an emphasis on improving the supply side of various agro and agro-based products. My government will take effective steps to prevent hoarding and black marketing. It will reform the Public Distribution System, incorporating best practices from the States. My government is alert about the possibility of a subnormal monsoon this year and contingency plans are being prepared.
9. Despite more than two-thirds of our people living in rural areas; we have not been able to provide adequate public amenities and livelihood opportunities to them. My government is committed to improving the quality of life in our villages, through empowered Panchayati Raj institutions. A substantial part of investment will focus on creating community assets and improving basic infrastructure such as roads, shelter, power and drinking water. My government will strive to end the rural-urban divide guided by the idea of Rurban; providing urban amenities to rural areas while preserving the ethos of the villages.
10. Agriculture is the source of livelihood for majority of our people. In the recent past, our farmers have been under severe stress with hopelessness driving some of them to suicides. My government is committed to reversing this unfortunate trend. It will increase investment in agriculture, both public and private, especially in Agri-infrastructure. Steps will be taken to convert farming into a profitable venture through scientific practices and Agro-technology. My government will address issues pertaining to pricing and procurement of agricultural produce, crop insurance and post-harvest management. Productivity of Animal Husbandry will be increased. My government will incentivize the setting up of food processing industries. Existing cooperative sector laws will be reviewed to remove anomalies and lacunae. My government will adopt a National Land Use Policy which will facilitate scientific identification of non-cultivable land and its strategic development.
11. Each drop of water is precious. My government is committed to giving high priority to water security. It will complete the long pending irrigation projects on priority and launch the ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana’ with the motto of ‘Har Khet Ko Paani’. There is a need for seriously considering all options including linking of rivers, where feasible; for ensuring optimal use of our water resources to prevent the recurrence of floods and drought. By harnessing rain water through ‘Jal Sanchay’ and ‘Jal Sinchan’, we will nurture water conservation and ground water recharge. Micro irrigation will be popularised to ensure ‘Per drop-More crop’.
Honourable Members
12. India is the world’s oldest civilization. Today it is also a country with the largest population of the youth. We must equip and nurture our youth with the right kind of education, skill-set and opportunity to reap this demographic dividend. My government will strive to transition from Youth Development to Youth-led Development. It will set up Massive Open Online Courses and virtual classrooms. It will formulate a National Education Policy aimed at meeting the challenges posed by lack of quality, research and innovation in our educational institutions. We will set up IITs and IIMs in every state. In order to empower school teachers and students, a national e-library will be established. It will facilitate development and promotion of Indian sports, particularly rural sports. Sports will be popularised by making it an integral part of the school curriculum and providing educational incentives.

To achieve this objective, my government will formulate a New Health Policy and roll out a National Health Assurance Mission. It will promote Yoga and AYUSH. To address the shortfall of health care professionals, health education and training will be transformed. AIIMS like institutes will be established in every State in a phased manner.
15. We must not tolerate the indignity of homes without toilets and public spaces littered with garbage. For ensuring hygiene, waste management and sanitation across the nation a “Swachh Bharat Mission” will be launched. This will be our tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary to be celebrated in the year 2019.
16. Keeping in mind welfare of the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and the weaker sections of our society; my government will take steps to create an enabling eco-system of equal opportunity in education, health and livelihood. My Government is committed to see that those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes are able to avail emerging opportunities. For the Scheduled Tribes, my government will launch a dedicated “Van Bandhu Kalyan Yojana”. Electrification of tribal hamlets and connecting them with all-weather roads will be a priority area.
17. It is unfortunate that even after several decades of independence, sections of minority communities continue to suffer from poverty, as benefits of government schemes do not reach them. My government is committed to making all minorities equal partners in India’s progress. The government will especially strengthen measures to spread modern and technical education among minority communities and a National Madarsa Modernization Programme will be initiated.
18. The welfare and rehabilitation of specially-abled people is integral to my government’s vision of a caring society. It will take steps to provide dignity of life to them by facilitating their participation in all walks of life. Steps will be taken to identify their special needs and to provide institutional care to them.
19. My government recognizes the important role our women play in the development of our society and growth of the nation. It is committed to providing 33 per cent reservation to them in the Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies. With a commitment of “Beti Bachao - Beti Padhao”, my government will launch a mass campaign for saving the girl child and enabling her education. It will structure a comprehensive scheme, incorporating best practices from States in this regard. In the recent past, the country has witnessed some grue some incidents of violence against women. The government will have a policy of zero tolerance for violence against women, and will strengthen the criminal justice system for its effective implementation.

In order to actively engage with the States on national issues, my government will reinvigorate fora like the National Development Council and the Inter-State Council. The Centre will be an enabler in the rapid progress of States through Cooperative Federalism. State-specific development models will be developed taking into account the special needs and unique problems of Coastal, Hilly and Desert areas. Highest priority will be accorded to bring eastern region of the country on par with western region in terms of physical and social infrastructure. We will pursue our international engagement based on enlightened national interest, combining the strength of our values with pragmatism, leading to a doctrine of mutually beneficial relationships. My government is committed to building a strong, self-reliant and self-confident India; regaining its rightful place in the comity of nations.
44. My government sent a unique and bold signal to the South Asian region and the world, by inviting for the first time in independent India, leaders of all South Asian neighbours to the swearing-in ceremony of the new Council of Ministers on May 26. We are grateful to them for accepting the invitation at such a short notice. Their participation, as also the gracious presence of the Prime Minister of Mauritius; not only added sheen to the ceremony, but also represented a celebration of democracy in the region and convergence of our shared hopes and aspirations. This shows my government’s commitment and determination to work towards building a peaceful, stable and economically inter-linked neighbourhood which is essential for the collective development and prosperity of the South Asian Region. We will further work together with South Asian leaders to revitalise SAARC as an effective instrument for regional cooperation and as a united voice on global issues.
45. At the same time, we will never shy away from raising issues of concern to us at a bilateral level. We emphasize that the future of shared prosperity can only be built on the foundation of stability in the region, which requires sensitivity to security concerns and an end to export of terrorism to neighbours.
46. My Government will engage energetically with other neighbours in our region, including China, with whom we will work to further develop our Strategic and Cooperative Partnership. We will strive to make progress in the many initiatives that are ongoing with Japan, especially in the field of building modern infrastructure in our country. Russia remains a privileged and strategic partner and my government will build further on the firm foundations of this relationship.
47. India and the United States have made significant progress in developing strategic partnership over the years. 49. Across the world, we have a vibrant, talented and industrious Indian Diaspora that is a source of great pride for us. They have done pioneering work in diverse fields, held the highest public offices and have worked hard to support their localities and families in India. While they have contributed immensely to their adopted country, they also carry a little flame of India in their hearts that can light up the promise of change in our country. A hundred years ago, in 1915, India’s greatest Pravasi Bharatiya, Mahatma Gandhi, returned home and transformed the nation’s destiny. The next Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas in January 2015 will thus be a special occasion. As we celebrate the centenary of Gandhiji’s return to India, we would also take steps that would deepen every Pravasi Bharatiya’s connection with India and involve them in India’s development.

50. The people of India have given a clear mandate. They want to see a vibrant, dynamic and prosperous India. They want to see a resurgent India regaining the admiration and respect of the international community. Brimming with hope and expectation, they want quick results. With three Ds of Democracy, Demography and Demand on our side, India is poised to actualize these aspirations. We must rise to the occasion to fulfill these great expectations. In 60 months from now, we should be able to say with confidence and pride that we have done it.

The Arvind Kejriwal Saga, write-up and Cartoons...

It all started with Arvind Kejriwal, becoming the poster boy of anti corruption movement in India. A simple looking muffler clad ex-civil servant from the Indian revenue services, who had won a lot of recognition across.

A look into his work in the past would enlighten you about how well he has been able to bring up a lot of good projects only to leave them once the spotlight has moved else where. He has worked really hard to ensure his presence in the limelight, so much so that he has left a lot of work incomplete in the process. An IIT graduate, Kejriwal had shown a lot of potential to be the next big thing and for many the only big thing in Indian Politics.

His entry into Indian politics was very well timed the incumbent government at the centre and in Delhi was under a lot of pressure due to anti-incumbency wave and people were looking for a change, a big change!!! In comes Mr. Kejriwal, along with Anna Hazare to start India Against Corruption. A lot of people don't know that Anna was not Kejriwal's first choice ever, the first choice for him was Shri Shri Ravi Shankar. A lot of thought and planning was behind the choice, they wanted someone with whom media can relate to easily.

The movement started and became a big success with major support coming from youth, the youth which would become the main factor in the upcoming Delhi elections. Most of them were first time voters who were always connected through the spread of social media. A lot of drama surrounded the movement, at its peak Ram Leela maidan had an attendance of more than 10,000 people. The media was also hungry for news as the IPL was already over and there was nothing major happening for the 24 x 7 media.

All of sudden things got sore between Anna and Kejriwal, so much so that the difference of opinion led to the formation of AAP the A am Aadmi Party. Kejriwal who once sworn on his kids never to enter political arena, became a politician. People who were looking for change saw a ray of hope in him and started following him, media also understood that TRPs are going to be driven by AAP, and they joined in as well.
A lot was said by AAP leaders and everyone believed in them, they connected very well with the youth and the urban poor. All this resulted in them getting sometimes vocal and sometimes muted support from across the spectrum. Delhi elections happened and AAP became the second largest party after BJP, and believe it or not they formed the government with the support of Congress against whom they were spewing fire all along.

They came to power on the promise of cheap electricity, free water and a lot of promises which many believed unachievable. They did try to woo the public with things like 200lts. of free water and sparing people who had not paid electricity bills for long by calling them supporters of AAP movement.
They even tried conducting Jan Sabhas which was a disaster and gave up on it without even trying to improve the format. This was not going be the first thing AAP gave up, which we realized in the first 49 days of their government. He also broke the promises that he made regarding the use of government house, vehicles and so on...

They gave up on Delhi also as it seems Kejriwal had started eyeing the bigger office, one which will take him to 7RCR. They resigned and made a lot of noise on the governor not dissolving the  Delhi Vidhan Sabha, later we saw him requesting the Governor to give them another chance after failing miserably in the national elections.

A lot of hopes that people had shattered, people started seeing Kejriwal as a bhagoda (someone who runs away from responsibility), but there was a sizeable chunk who still believed in him. A lot of things happened behind the curtain, many of the founding members left the party and came in the open about the problems because of which they left. Initially people kept on believing Kejriwal, but over a period of time people started parting way, what Mr. Kejriwal saw as support nationally turned out to be opportunistic people eyeing just a ticket for the Vidhan Sabha elections, once the lust of candidates came out many AAP supporters moved out questioning the selection of candidates.

In many cases we would further see that the number of votes received by AAP was less than the number of registered members in that area. AAP leaders failed to realise that like on Facebook don't always translate into votes. Many of the people who were behind AAP euphoria on-line did not even cast their vote, they were all only social media giants who made a lot of voice but when it came to real work they were no where to be seen.

AAP lost across the board with more than 90% of it's candidates not even able to save their deposits, this has shown that people are not fools and if they believe in something they want results to substantiate their belief. Mr. Kejriwal seems to be trying again to come in the limelight by going to jail and other such affairs...

AAP did a lot of good but that good has all turned into evil it seems, because what they have finally achieved is that they have made sure that people will not believe in a new person or concept in politics without substantial proof of work....

Narendra Modi's 10 Point agenda for the Cabinet

Union Cabinet to meet at 11 am today

Four days in and the new government in Delhi has already started working overtime. Media has already covered news about, strict office timing mandates being driven by Mr. Modi. Yesterday Mr. Modi met with his cabinet to set in place the core guidlelines for the functioning of the government.

Narendra Modi realises the importance of empowering the bureaucracy and thus the first point on the list is about building confidence of the civil servants. Bureaucrats due to issues like lack of confidence and excessive interference, are vary of taking tough decisions; which has resulted in paralysing the system.

The other agenda on the list is about infrastructure, and it is the most important aspect as it directly co-relates to growth of the nation. Just like a corporate organisation, Mr. Modi has also directed all the ministers to work hand in hand and solve inter ministry issues. The economy is also in need of a major boost.

Modi prepares 10-point agenda for India's turnaround

A lot of things have been laid down, like e-tendering, transparency, infrastructure reforms etc., what needs to be seen is where does all this take the new government.

Does Education Define Leadership Qualities...??

The media has been filled with news about comments made by INC on the educational background of Shrimati Smriti Irani, Ajay Maken had tweeted the following comment:

Smriti Irani, reacted on the issue in the simplest possible manner, and requested people to judge her by her work and not her qualification. The basic question one needs to ask is, what was the qualification of ministers in the UPA regime, the National Advisory Council was being headed by a person whose educational qualifications, are not traceable.

Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari, had made a statement frowning upon the tweet by Ajay Maken and have made congress's stand clear that work should define ones potential.

One needs to understand that a government is driven by sensibility and intelligence and not education, the movie Slum-dog Millionaire also showed the story of a chaiwalla winning an intelligence based game-show and becoming the millionaire.

Has the new Cabinet started reaching Gujarat Bhavan

Senior BJP leaders have like Uma Bharti, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ananth Kumar, Sushma Swaraj etc. reach the Gujarat Bhavan in the run up to the historic day not only for BJP but also India, as after a gap of around 30 years we will see a majority government coming to power.

It seems likely that the leaders reaching Gujarat Bhavan are the ones who will be the part of the new cabinet to be sworn in today along with the PM designate Shri Narendra Modi.

BJP has not yet made public the list of cabinet ministers and everyone is waiting to find out more from the BJP team.

Narendra Modi begins his day with a visit to Rajghat and Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee

63 year, old PM designate Shri Narendra Modi started his most important day by visiting the Rajghat today admist tight security. Clad in white dress Mr. Modi along with several BJP leaders reached Rajghat around 8am and paid homage to Mahtma Gandhi and observed silence.

The next stop for Mr. Modi after Rajghat was the residence of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The day is going to abuzz and Delhiets are going to see some unprecedented security all around, representatives from all SAARC nations along with Malaysia are going to be in attendance for the grand affair, with a guest list that includes celebrities like Amitabh Bacchan, Rajnikant and business tycoons like Shri Ratan Tata.

Everyone is also closely watching the announcement of the Cabinet and there has been a lot of speculations that are doing rounds, about who will get what. As per sources the list of cabinet ministers would only be around 18-20, and around 30-35 MoS level ministers would be sworn in today.

Narendra Modi Speech at Central Hall Translated in English

Shri Nrendra Bhai Modi's, gave a emotional extempore in the central hall on being nominated the PM from BJP by Shri Lalkrishna Advani. Posting below the english translation of the speech for all of you to go through and understand what Mr. Modi brings to the table and how he is different from so many others in the system.

Respected Mr. Advani, our (BJP) National head Mr. Rajnath Singh, newly elected members and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states, I am thankful to all of you for selecting me unanimously for a new responsibility; I am greatful and thankful specifically of Mr Advani and Mr. Rajnath Singh for trusting me and giving me thier blessings. I was thinking of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's health, if his health would have permitted, he would have been with us today and graced the occasion, but I know his blessing are with us today and for future.
This is the temple of democracy, we will work with complete purity here, we are not here for any post but we are here for the people of this country who have elected us. Responsibility towards work is the biggest thing and I accept the resposibility that all of you are giving me. According to me post is not important but responsibility is the most important thing in life.

We will have to dedicate ourselves to fulfill this responsibility. In last September 13, 2013, the BJP parliamentary board gave a responsibility to me and from September 15, I started my work and with full sense of responsibility of a worker. The parishram yagya (hard-work), which I began at on 13th September, 2013 and ended on the 10th of May, 2014; I reported back to our Party president (although he asked me to take rest), before heading back to Ahmedabad and told him that the first responsibility has been completed and I have tried to fulfill the responsibility to the best of my capability. During the campaign only one  gathering was cancelled that to because because our district president of Ghosi passed away all of a sudden. I told him that I have worked as a loyal and committed soldier, This land is sacred for me and I have tried to fulfill the role of a party worker.
I saw Chief Minister's cabin for the first time when I became the chief minister, today it is the same situation again and I have come to the Centeral Hall for the first time.
I salute all freedom fighters and also salute makers of the Constitution of our country as because of them, the world is witnessing the power of democracy. Since we have won I have been getting calls from global leaders and when I tell them about 550 Million voters they are surprised so many voters!

It is the power of our constitution that a person with a poor background is standing here today; this shows the power of our constitution and the democratic election process that any common citizen can reach this height. BJP victory and other party's loss can be debated later, but citizens have realized the power of democratic setup in fulfilling their aspirations.

A government is one which listens and thinks about the poor; it also exists for the poor at the same time. Thus the new government is dedicated to the poor, all the young people, mothers and daughters who are toiling hard for their respect and honour. All villagers, farmers, dalits and oppressed people, should know that this government is for them, their aspirations and desires are our responsibility.

I have seen India from a different angle during the campaign, I saw people only one cloth on their body but still they had a BJP Flag, these are the people who look up to us with hope of fulfilling their dreams, thus it is our responsibility to fulfill their dreams.

Mr. Advani (with respect) has used a word in his speech, I request him never to use that word, he said that "Narendra Bhai ne hampe Kripa ki hai" , (Narendra Bhai has shown graciousness)
... Pauses with a emotional outburst and sinks his face under the mikes, recollects himself and calls for water...

Please don't use this word, can a son ever do Kripa on his mother? Like India is my mother, BJP is also my mother (very emotional tone), a son can never do kripa, but can only serve his mother with full devotion and dedication. I would say it (BJP) has done me a favour by providing me with an opportunity to serve it.

Governments in the past have tried to do some good work in their own way and they should be appreciated for the same. We will carry forward what ever good has happened. People have voted for a hope, they should not be pessimistic. All the TV channels have been analysing the verdict in different ways, this verdict is of a hope.
I had said earlier that this is a election of hope, and by giving full majority to BJP people have now coupled this hope with trust. People have voted with hope and faith, I will make sure that everything is done to fulfill their expectations. Pessimism should have no room now, as it results in work getting stuck, nothing can be achieved with it. The moto of our government will be to be develop and support everyone. Time has come for new hope and strength.

I will meet all the MPs again in 2019 with a report card of my performance again, my government will not be for myself but it would be for the country, it is a for the poor and we would do something for them. I will try my best to fulfill the responsibility that has be given to me, you will never have to look down on the work I will do.

I was not fortunate to get an opportunity to die for the country, but surely every citizen born in independent India should dedicate him/herself for the country, every speck of our lives should be dedicated to the 125 crore people of this country, if we do so country will progress at a rapid rate,
It is in my DNA that I am an optimist by nature, disappointment never gels with me, I repeat what I said in one college lecture that a lot of people say (showing a half filled water glass), that some say this glass is half full, some say it is half empty; my thinking is of the third type, I say it completely filled half with water and other half with air. It is very important to be an optimist, as only an optimist can bring and fill people with hope, adverse conditions are a part and parcel of life, but being pessimistic can never help.

In 2001 when earthquake struck Gujarat, we were all stricken by death and there was destruction everywhere. Everyone the world over thought it was all over. But in no time, Gujarat once again stood up on its feet. We will have to leave pessimism behind. Who says that such an aware democratic country — the largest in the world cannot move forward? If 125 crore Indians resolve to take one step forward, the entire country will travel 125 crore steps forward.
Which is the other country in the world which has six seasons? This land of ours is blessed, our land is fertile, full of natural resources. People from our country go abroad and earn name and fame, we only have to give opportunity to them here.
In this election, we stressed on two things — sabka saath, sabka vikas. We want everyone’s progress and development but it is as important that we take everybody along with us. This election symbolised new hope, I have such able colleagues with me and with guidance from my senior leaders, I have full faith that the responsibility which was given to me on September 13, 2013 and which was completed on May 16, 2014 and with the new responsibility given to me today, I assure you that when we meet in 2019, I will place before you my report card. I will try and achieve the pinnacle of perseverance and hard work.
The coming year 2015-16 is important to us all, it will be Pandit Deendayal Updhyaya's centenary year, chairaveti, chairevetimantra was given by him and this led to establishing a system of sacrifice and hard work. We have to think about how to fulfill his dreams and work and strive to fulfill them. Party and the government should also think about this as to how to celebrate this coming event. Antyodaya, the service of the downtrodden, that is what Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya had stressed. That is why I say that this government is for the poor and deprived. In global perspective also, this election of India and its results are being viewed in a very constructive and positive manner. And the first message that goes out to the world is that it is not important that millions of people have made some party victorious or made someone a prime minister. But it is important that millions have given a good mandate and have held India's position high in the world that is the message of these elections. Who won and who lost is not important. These are the results which will attract the world to India and to its democratic traditions, and capabilities. Hope has been kindled in a common citizen of India and the same hope has arisen in humanitarian forces in the world. This is a very good sign.
Once again I express my gratitude to millions of workers who have toiled hard for this victory. Modi which is before you and which you can see is because Modi is hoisted by senior leaders of my party on their shoulders. Whatever we have achieved today, is because of sacrifices made by past five generations. Jan Sangh was not known to the people, some thought it is a social, cultural organisation. Today, I salute all those generations who made sacrifices for nationalist causes. We should not forget that we are here today because of sacrifices made by the past generations. This victory is of millions of our workers. If we think like this, there will not be any opportunity for our society and party to have any complaints. BJP is the party which relies on its strong organisation, that is our strength and none of us is either away or above the organisation.
All of you have given me a new responsibility, Mr. Advani has given me his blessings. You have shown faith in me and I assure that I will not let you down on any occasion and will always give my best. Thank you all once again..
